Step 1
Block Remote Content: from the upper Outlook Express menu, click on "Tools > Options". Click on the "Security" tab. Under the "Download Images" section, make sure the "Block images and external content in HTML e-mail" option is enabled.

Security Zone: from the upper Outlook Express menu, click on "Tools > Options". Click on the "Security" tab. Under the "Virus Protection" section, under where it says "Select the Internet Explorer security zone to use:", choose the "Restricted sites zone" option.

Worm Protection: from the upper Outlook Express menu, click on "Tools > Options". Click on the "Security" tab. Under the "Virus Protection" section, make sure the "Warn me when other applications try to send mail as me" option is enabled.

Step 4
Dangerous Attachments: from the upper Outlook Express menu, click on "Tools > Options". Click on the "Security" tab. Under the "Virus Protection" section, make sure the "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" option is enabled.

Disable Preview: from the upper Outlook Express menu, click on "View > Layout". Under the "Preview Pane" section, make sure the "Show preview pane" option is disabled. Click on "OK" to contine.

Step 6
Plain Text: from the upper Outlook Express menu, click on "Tools > Options". Click on the "Read" tab. Under the "Reading Messages" section, make sure the "Read all messages in plain text" option is enabled.

Encryption: from the upper Outlook Express menu, click on "Tools > Options". Click on the "Security" tab. Under the "Secure Mail" section, make sure the "Ecrypt contents and attachments for all outgoing messages" option is enabled.
