Everyone's hair grows at varying rates. Some people are simply more prone to faster body hair growth than others. If your armpit hair is thinner or shorter than you'd like it to be, there are various things you can try to encourage its growth. You won't be able to drastically change your hair growth cycles, however, there are many things you can do to slightly stimulate hair growth. If you are dedicated in your treatment regime, you'll notice your armpit hair growing more over time.

Massage your armpits. Use firm pressure and circulation motions to rub your armpits for at least 2 minutes daily. Since massage increases circulation, blood and nutrients can more easily reach hair follicles in the area. This speeds hair growth.

Consume protein. Hair is primarily made up of protein so increasing your dietary intake of protein can speed hair growth. You can find protein in a range of food sources, such as meat, dairy products, soy and nuts. You can also take protein supplements.

Spread a thin layer of eucalyptus oil over your armpits daily. This natural oil stimulates hair follicles into more efficient action, thereby encouraging growth cycles. You can find eucalyptus oil at most health stores.

Eat a healthy diet. If you don't properly nourish your body, all its systems suffer. Poor nutrition often results in stunted hair growth and thinning hair. Try to get vitamins and nutrients from fresh, natural foods as often as possible.

Take vitamins. Vitamins A, B3 and B6 are all essential to healthy hair growth. Make sure you are getting adequate amounts of each in order to increase your armpit hair's growth patterns.

Reduce stress. Stress has an adverse effect on hair growth. Employ relaxation techniques such as deep breathing and meditation to reduce your stress levels. In addition, make sure you get sufficient sleep nightly.
