Step 1
Internet explorer crashes can make you lose your workClick inside the dialogue box or document in which you wish to back up data for in case your computer crashes. Use the windows hotkeys by holding the “ctrl” button and then press “A.” These shortcut keys will highlight your text. An alternative is to hold your left mouse button and manually highlight all the text you want saved in case your browser crashes. Dragging the mouse is a little slower than the windows shortcut, but you have more control over exactly what you save before a computer freeze up.

Step 2
Computer crashes? Here's a solution.Use the shortcut keys by holding the “ctrl” button and press “C.” You won’t actually see anything happen from this windows shortcut, and if you don’t have a computer freeze up you don’t even need to think twice about it. But what those windows hotkeys do is to “copy” your highlighted text and back up data you wrote for in case your browser crashes. They’re on your invisible Windows clipboard now so if internet explorer crashes don’t worry.

Step 3
A computer freeze up doesn't have to slow you down.Click “send” in your Email or message board post. If the browser crashes, no worries! Open up Notepad (or click back on your browser to get back to the blank page you tried to write in) and use shortcut keys by holding the “ctrl” button while you press “V.” You should see those windows hotkeys let you “paste” all the work you’d typed and saved. It is so fast and easy that you should get into the habit of using this windows shortcut anytime you are writing something in a browser window to back up data, just in case Firefox or internet explorer crashes. It’ll make computer crashes so much more tolerable. Good luck!
