How to Make a Free Digital Scrapbook With Smilebox

Whether you are making one for your family or a friend, you know the memories shared in a scrapbook will be those treasured and remembered forever. You can make a digital scrapbook using Smilebox. Email it to your family and friends when you are done.

Instructions

1. Launch a Web browser and go to the Smilebox website. Download the Smilebox Installer by clicking on the "Get Started" button. A dialog box will appear asking you if you would like to save the smileboxinstaller.exe file. Click on "Save File." Once the executable file is saved on your computer, double-click it to install Smilebox.

2. Follow onscreen instructions at the "Welcome to Smilebox" window and create a free account. Fill out the form as prompted for your email, full name and a password. Click on "Create account."

3. Click on "No thanks" in the next window when given the option to sign up to Club Smilebox, a fee-based program that offers premium services.

4. Open the Smilebox program if it is not already. Within the "Design Catalog" tab, scroll down and click on "Scrapbooks." The scrapbook design categories available to you will open. Select a category, such as "Kids' Activities," and view the designs until you find one that you like. You can sort the designs by most popular, name, design type, number of photos, style and newest to make browsing easier.

5. When you have selected a design you would like to work with, check to make sure you have clicked on the design to select it. Click on "Personalize".

6. Add more photos to the left sidebar to use in your workspace by clicking on the "Get photos" button. Drag and drop the photos you wish to use from the left sidebar onto the picture holders in the digital scrapbook workspace.

7. When you are ready to prep or edit the next page, select the page you wish to visit from the selection below your workspace.

8. Choose music to match your scrapbook by selecting a radio button on the right sidebar. You can decide to use no music.

9. Change the colors or embellishments of the digital scrapbook if the option is available on the right sidebar. Slide the slider to the desired color or embellishment.

10. Preview your digital scrapbook by clicking on the "Preview" button on the top of the page. Select the "Basic design - Free" radio button to preview your scrapbook.

11. Click on the "Share, Print or DVD" button when you are satisfied with the presentation of your scrapbook. A window opens. Select the "Send" button in the "Send your creation by email" section.

12. Fill out the form to send your digital scrapbook to a recipient. You can import an address book into Smilebox to make finding an email address easier. Select a date to send your digital scrapbook or choose to send it now. Click on "Continue" when you have added all desired recipients, chosen a send date and typed your message.

13. Click on the "Basic design" option on the next "Send your creation" window. Click "Send." Your free digital scrapbook will be emailed to the recipients on the date that you have chosen.
