How to Sleep More Comfortably While Pregnant

During mid to late pregnancy, getting a good night's sleep can be hard to do. As your body grows and changes, it gets more difficult to find a comfortable position to sleep in.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make sure you empty your bladder fully right before you go to bed. Frequent urination is a common complaint in late pregnancy since the fetus is putting pressure on the bladder. This can wake you up at night.

  2. Step 2

Sleep on your side. The left side is most often recommended for the best circulation. If the left side is not comfortable, sleep on your right side.

  3. Step 3

Buy a body pillow or sleep with a standard pillow between your legs. You can also put one under the edge of your belly. I personally recommend a body pillow for the most comfortable night's sleep while pregnant. There are special body pillows made for pregnant women, which support you from the front and back while sleeping on your side.
