These homemade baby shower favors will be a hit at your next party! They are so simple to make, fun for all of your guests and look great! I filled a variety of vases, glass bowls and platters with different types of candies and cookies. I bought stacks of chinese takeout boxes that I decorated and had guests fill with cookies and candies before they left. These party favors were a huge success! I put directions on the table with the baby shower favors to help guide our guests as well as they filled their boxes. Here are the instructions so that you can make homemade baby shower favors for your next party! In fact, these would be great at any event that you are throwing! The takeout boxes could be decorated with a theme and the cookies and candies could also have a theme.

Start off by thinking of the space in which you'll display these party favors for the baby shower. You'll need space to spread everything out for your guests to access everything! From left to right along a table, I would start off by asking everyone to take one takeout box. Then move down the length of the table to see all of the goodies to put inside the boxes and make their homemade baby shower favors a sweet success!

First, according to the number of guests that you'll be entertaining at the baby shower, determine the amount of party favor takeout boxes that you'll need. You may instruct everyone to only take one takeout box but that is not always the case so make sure you have extra!! We decorated our takeout boxes with baby shower themed stickers to make them look festive.

Next, decide what kind of candies you'll want to have on hand for the favors. You can label the bowls in some way so that guests know what varieties they have to choose from. If candies are wrapped, guests may not easily recognize them. Always have extra bags on hand as well to refill bowls! If bags are unopened, many stores will take the candy back if you have the receipt.

Next, choose the homemade cookies that you'll be making to fill your baby shower favors. If this makes it too time consuming then buy them from a bakery! No need to fuss if it isn't something that you have time for or will enjoy doing. Think of an approximate number of cookies per guest so that you'll know how many to buy or make to fill the party favor boxes.

  5. Step 5

Once you have cookies and candies ready, its time to assemble your party favor table for the baby shower. Start by displaying cookies on various glass platters and in bowls. Make sure you have tongs for guests to pick up the cookies with as well and place in their boxes.

  6. Step 6

Then, moving down the table, display candies in all sizes and shaped glass bowls and vases for guests to scoop out. We found many fun and festive spoons and other utensils that guests enjoyed looking at and using while they filled their favor boxes.

Be available to help guests at the table as well. When they are done filling their homemade baby shower favors, help each guest close their boxes so that they don't spill their goodies!! That's it! So easy and beautiful! Your guests will love helping to assemble their party favors and choosing the treats that they'd love to take home to remember this special day by!

Tips & Warnings
  • This could also be done at a wedding shower or at a holiday or New Year's party!
  • Remember to label any candy that may have nuts for guests with allergies.
  • Make your table look inviting! Add candles and flowers to dress it up!
  • Be sure to make a sign that asks guests to take one box so that you don't run out! You may want to give instructions to the group that the table will be open at the end of the party!
