Emergency pipe repair clamp
Emergency pipe repair clamp

Sometimes in an emergency there is a need to patch a copper pipe, there are 2 ways of doing this

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • wrench,screw driver patch
  1. Step 1

First identify if the patch needs to be on the pipe or the fitting. There are many different products out there for both the homeowner and the contractor. I always like to do the repair for the long term but there are times you just need to have the repair done and then go back and fix it in the morning

  2. Step 2

find the measurements of both the circumference and the size of the patch that you will need

  3. Step 3

If you are using the clamp style, all you need to do is fit it over the hole and tighten the bolts

  4. Step 4

If you are using the special tape ( I don't recommend this procedure but in an emergency it can be done ) You will need to turn the water off, make the repair and then turn the water back on
