Clams Marinara is one of my favorite Italian dinners to make. It is so good that you can't get enough of it. This meal can be eaten casually or can be made for any special occasion. Here's how.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 1/2 lb of clams
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic chopped
  • 1 tsp of olive oil
  • 1 can of tomatoes diced
  • 2 tsp of sugar
  • 1/4 crushed red pepper flakes.
  • red or white wine
  1. Step 1

Sprinkle a fourth teaspoon of salt and pepper over the clams. Then place the clams in a grill basket. You may also choose to greased the grill rack. Pre-heat the grill at medium heat for five minutes. Place the clams in the grill for five minutes or until the clams shells are opened. Take the clams out of the grill and set them aside.

  2. Step 2

Next, pre-heat your pan at medium heat, and add oil and let it simmer. Then add onions, garlic, and sauté until it is carmelized. Then add tomatoes, sugar, red pepper flakes, salt, and bring it to a broil. Add some wine in.

  3. Step 3

Reduce heat and let it simmer, cover for 10 minutes. Add clams in and let it continue to simmer for another 5 minutes. Then serve over hot spaghetti noodles and top with parmesan cheese.
