Loud snoring is the cause of many a sleepless nights. There is a plethora of conditions that can cause snoring and disrupt your sleep patterns. Here are some different ways to reduce or stop snoring.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Add additional pillows to elevate the head higher. This will help open up your nasal passages.

  2. Step 2

    Sleep on your side rather than on your back. This too will open up your nasal passages.

  3. Step 3

    Use an adhesive strip on your nose. These are available over the counter and help to open up your nostrils.

  4. Step 4

    For those with a medical condition like sleep apnea, losing weight can help reduce snoring.

  5. Step 5

    Avoid sedatives like alcohol, drugs, and sleeping pills since they will relax the area around the throat and will enhance rather than alleviate the snoring.

  6. Step 6

    In more extreme circumstances surgery may be required for those with a deviated septum or other blockage of the nasal passage.
