Step 1
Following drinking laws. You have to be 21 in order to drink alcohol. Be sure you bring your identification with you so that you if you intend to drink you have proof of your age. Along these lines you’ll also want to be aware of the dangers of drinking too much alcohol. If you consume too much alcohol you are in danger of alcohol poisoning. Even if you don’t wind up with alcohol poisoning, alcohol does inhibit your ability to make clear decisions. Be aware of the fact that your judgment will be impaired if you drink too much.

Step 2
Keep your hotel room safe. For example, you want to make sure and lock the hotel room door when you are inside. If there is a knock at the door, make sure and look before answering the door. Don’t open the door for someone you do not know. If someone claims to be a staff member make sure that either you are expecting them or that you check with the front desk to make certain that it is indeed a staff person. You want to avoid leaving anything of value in your hotel rooms, such as a laptop computer or expensive jewelry.

Step 3
Watch out for sun exposure during the hottest time of the day. Keep from becoming over exposed to the sun by limiting the amount of the time that you are in the sun during the day. Recognize that you can get sunburn even if it is cloudy outside. Use a sunscreen that has at an SPF of 15 and make sure that you get sunscreen on your face, ears, nose and shoulders in particular. After you swim, make sure and reapply your sunscreen. Also, when you are at the beach or pool, make sure that you stay hydrated. Drink water, or beverages that aren’t carbonated and that aren’t alcoholic even if you don’t happen to feel thirsty at that given moment.
