Step 1
wedding dressThe first step is to go and try on wedding dresses in the store. Find out the size and style that works on you. In this step you are doing research so don't fall in love with a dress but a style. Do this as one of the first things you do in planning your wedding. Give yourself time to shop.
-
Step 2
Now you know the wedding dress style and size that work for you. You can now go to eBay and shop for wedding dresses. Make sure you can return the dress if it does not fit. Make sure you have time to do this as well.
-
Step 3
If eBay does not work try going to the wedding dress store and ask to try on some clearance dresses. I bought my dress for $99 marked down from $600. There was a hook missing that cost less than $.50 to fix. Well worth it.
-
Step 4
You can also shop 2nd hand stores. There are a lot of people who buy dresses an never get married and donate there beautiful wedding dress to a second hand store.
-
Step 5
Get you accessories for less. Buy them at the same place you got your wedding dress and they will usually give you a discount. Look for shoes at clearance sales. Try to barrow your jewelry from a relative. This will give you your something barrowed.
-
Step 6
When it comes to altering your wedding dress it could cost more than the dress. Ask friends and family if they know someone that will give your a discount. Instead of paying $100 for your wedding dress to get pressed buy a garment steamer and do it yourself. I bought my steamer for $30 and I still use it.
