Throw a Fourth of July Bash

How to throw a Fourth of July bash.
Make it a memorable Independence Day, by celebrating America's heritage by throwing a Fourth of July party. Make this summer one you and your family will never forget.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

When throwing a Fourth of July bash. Keep things simple, with easy-to-make decorations and create tasty desserts and barbecue food that everyone will love. Deck out your backyard in patriotic colors: red, white, and blue. Tie your silverware with red and white ribbons. Create a flag centerpiece with red, white and blue tea light candles.

  2. Step 2

Have your kids make up a skit about a famous American. They can create costumes and perform for your family and friends. Examples: Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry etc. You can also pay your respect to a family or any soldier that has past due to fighting in the military. To give thanks and show respect prepare a speech, in let your kids read it out loud for your guest.

  3. Step 3

A great way to past time is by, doing craft together as a family, or by teaching kids the meaning behind the holiday. You can try this neat and simple craft that I was introduced to a couple of years ago called; Straw name tags: Place Flag stickers on straws and have everyone write their name on the flag. This way you will cut down on wasting cups, everyone will know whose cup is whose.

  4. Step 4

Create an All-American BBQ. Your menu can consist of the following:
Pigs in a blanket, Barbecue chicken, Chef Salad, Hamburgers, Deviled eggs. Potato salad, Strawberry lemonade, Ice cream sundae.
    All kid friendly items!

  5. Step 5

End your night with lots of light. Have your own firework show. Check the law in your area before setting off fireworks. If it's against the law, find the closet show, and take a drive to see the professional firework show. However, if everything is okay with the law in your area, be sure to take precautions. Have children stand from the lighting. Always point Fireworks away from where people are standing. Don't set off fireworks in metal or glass container, this will cause injury. Always keep a waterhose close by in case of the fire spreading.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can purchase the flag stickers at Walmart or Dollar Tree Stores.
