Considerable Internet skills, combined with a few extra hours a week, could translate into some extra money as an Internet assessor. Assessors are hired to help companies like Google improve the search experience for customers around the world. The work can typically be done at home.

Apply to Lionbridge or Leapforce. These are the two companies that hire people for Google's online positions as Internet Assessors. They may not be hiring for U.S. positions at the time you search, but they advise you to check back often. The job descriptions are explained on-site. You will need a current resume and, although it is not required, a college degree is preferred. Positions start at about $14.50 an hour and you typically must commit to 10 to 20 hours per week.

Wait for a reply. It usually takes a couple of days to a week to receive notice if you are up for consideration.

Take the pre-test. You will be emailed a pre-test to ensure that your analytical skills pass the muster. The test takes a couple of hours and is not easy. You have a window of time to take the pre-test and you will be notified immediately concerning your pass or fail status. You are not given a second chance if you fail it.

Study, study, study. You will be given a set of guidelines to study. Do so. The next test is long and arduous. You will have a few days to complete it, as it takes about 10 days to get through it. It is a frustratingly difficult test which does nothing to alleviate any nervous ticks you might have.

Shout hallelujah if you pass it. It takes a few days to be notified of your pass/fail status. Upon a positive result, you will be asked for your personal information. You need a checking account for your paychecks to be direct deposited in. You will be paid once a month. You also need to send your tax information, so you can receive a 1099 form at the end of the tax year.

Get ready to start immediately, once that information is received. You will have no idea what you are doing at first, but over time you will get the hang of it. With just two to four hours a day, sitting in the comfort of your own home, in front of your computer, you can earn $600 to $1,200 a month.
