Step 1
First off, buy a dry cleaning at home kit. These are a lot less money and you can use them to lengthen the time between trips to the professional dry cleaner. Not only do they save you money, but the chemicals in the home cleaning kits are less toxic to the environment. Several brands are available, i.e. Woolite Dry Cleaner’s Secret, Dryel, and Clorox FreshCare are just a few. I personally have used Dryel with amazing results. They even offer spot cleaners in case you happened to stain your dry clean only clothing.

Step 2
Use the dry cleaning kit at home for several cleanings before you take your clothing to the professional dry cleaners. This will save you at least $50-75 depending on the amount of clothing, type of fabric, and how often you go to the cleaners.
-
Step 3
Look for coupons to your favorite dry cleaner. If they don’t offer them, try out a new dry cleaner who does off coupons occasionally. Even saving a couple of bucks once in a while will help.
-
Step 4
If you take a lot of clothing to the dry cleaners, talk to the owner of the cleaners you frequent to see if you can haggle for a deal. Depending on how well their business is going, they may be willing to provide you a discount to keep your business.

on 2/16/2009 I have used that at home kit and they really do freshen the clothing. You can wear the item more times before taking it to be professionally cleaned. I personally avoid dry clean only items if I can. 5*
