One way to learn golf is to have a qualified golf professional instruct you. If you are a true beginner, it is best to start with the green, meaning learn how to putt, then work your way back to the tee. The reason why it is better to learn this way is because putting is a shorter swing. If you start with putting then go to chipping, then to pitching you will gain the experience and feel for the swing. Then you need to get a feel for the short irons that are the 7,8,9 irons work your way to the mid irons 6,5,and finally the long irons 4 and a 3 iron if you are using a mens set of clubs. The woods are the last club to learn, but you should start with the more lofted woods like the 7 iron and 5 iron. Try using those woods off the tee first before you use a 3 wood and finally the driver. You will have an easier transition this way in learning how to deal with the eventually 14 golf clubs in your bag. You may want to view my FREE video on my website.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Qualified golf professional
  • Putter, PW, 7 iron, 5 wood
  • Tees & golf balls
  1. Step 1

Find a qualified PGA or LPGA golf professional in your area.
Or become a member of my online golf video instruction and save hundreds of dollars by paying only $9.95.

  2. Step 2

If you do not have golf clubs, purchase a used set, but nothing too out-dated. Pick a set that has larger club heads and have a weight and length that feels comfortable.

  3. Step 3

Tell you professional that you want to start from the putting green and work your way back to the tee gradually. It'll take 5 - 10 lessons @ about $30./1/2 hour or my video library for just $9.95/month.

  4. Step 4

After you get a good feel of the swing and game, you may want to ask the pro for a club fitting and upgrade your golf clubs.
