Mickey Mouse's birthday is celebrated on November 18, which is date his first movie, "Steamboat Willie," made its debut in 1928. Mickey parties can take on many forms. If you have a Mickey fan in the house, plan something around November 18 to give the old mouse his day. Naturally, everyone at the party must have Mickey Mouse ears. Does this Spark an idea?

      Decorate the area in Mickey's main colors of red, black, white, or yellow. A red tablecloth, white and yellow napkins, black plastic forks, and a few yellow, black, white, and red balloons should do.

      Check the Disney website, which has no shortage of Mickey-related items for gifts or prizes. Some of the 2011 bounty included books on the making of the video game "Epic Mickey," Mickey clothing ranging from plush slippers to dress shirts, and collectibles like snowglobes and framed limited-edition prints.

      Use a Mickey Mouse shaped cookie cutter on sandwiches and Jello Jigglers. Make a Mickey Mouse cake. You can even make a cake combining one large dark cake, with two small ones connected by icing to the top of the large one. The two small cakes represent Mickey's ears. The Disney site has plenty of other food options, including how to make Mickey "cake pops."

      Put on a mini-marathon of Mickey Mouse TV shows and movies. Plenty of DVDs are available, including a Blu-ray release of "Fantasia," where Mickey became an even bigger star in the sequence "The Sorcerer's Apprentice."
