How to Make Rosewater Raspberry Syrup
Syrups are among the most versatile things to have in the pantry-and a good choice is raspberry syrup with rosewater-for a unique twist on an old theme. There are many creative uses for this syrup including: adding it to oatmeal or mineral water, as a topping for crepes or pancakes, on ice cream or even stirring it into your tea. Plus, rose is a medicinal herb that is beneficial to the nervous system. I like to cook with herbs as well as take them as medicine. Here is how to prepare this tasty, dual purpose syrup. Things You'll Need
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup clover honey
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 rosewater
- 1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries

Add water, honey and sugar to a medium saucepan. Heat on medium low until sugar is melted.

Add raspberries and stir into the water, honey and sugar mixture. Cook for about 5 minutes.

Mash raspberries with a potato masher while in the saucepan. Raise heat to medium high until it starts to boil.

Reduce heat to low, add rosewater and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

Remove from heat after 5 minutes and transfer to a serving dish or an airtight container.

Use immediately or store in the refrigerator.

Tips & Warnings
You can adjust the thickness by either adding more sugar (if you like it thicker) or more water (if you like it thinner).
Syrup thickens as it cools.
