Holidays are not the only times we can enjoy a delicious dish of cornbread dressing. This dish can enhance any meal. Whether you are stuffing pork chops, chicken, cornish hens, or serving your dressing as a side meal with grilled salmon. Cornbread dressing adds flavor to any meal. What makes this dressing so good is the eggs. The eggs make the dressing fluffy. This cornbread dressing recipe was passed down to me by my Great Aunt in Alabama. Rich, tasty and easy to make, just follow these easy steps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup chopped celery

  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 6 cups cornbread
  • 2 cups white bread
  • 1 1/2 qts chicken broth
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  1. Step 1

First sauté your chopped onions and celery in butter, or margarine. Mix sage, poultry seasoning, thyme and cook until onions and celery are tender, approximately 10 minutes.

  2. Step 2

Combine cornbread and white bread (make sure cornbread and white bread are in crumbs)in large bowl, stir in chicken broth onions, celery and eggs, mix well. Season with salt & pepper to taste, add more broth as needed. Adding broth will ensure dressing is moist and eggs will make dressing light and fluffy.
