Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The best long range weather forecast site is a tie between The Weather Channel's www.weather.com and Accuweather. The Weather Channel has a excellent ten day forecast. When you click on the ten day weather forecast; you will see the predictions for the ten days and the high and low temperature for the past days of the month, the average high and low and the record high and low. Very handy! You can also check out the next month's data. A great feature of the ten day forecast is a prediction of temperatures in the region, weather for the region and wind strength and direction. To find this data, click on the name of the day you want this data for, scroll down and look for the map. It's just that easy. The weather.com is five star all the way!

  2. Step 2

Accuweather is also impressive. The free package has a great enhanced radar. The Accuweather long range weather forecast is up to fifteen days. Click midway down on right of the local weather page for weather forecast video for the local area. A big five stars as this is wonderful for a forecast of cities you may be flying or traveling to in the future. You will also find historical data which is handy. You might want to try the upgrade version as they have a free thirty day trial.

  3. Step 3

National Weather Service. Gives seven day forecasts and up to date weather warnings. Go to www.nws.noaa.gov and click on your state and then on your location. The NWS gives a seven day forecast and if you click on the forecast discussion section on the right hand side you will get a detailed forecast for the short and long term. This part of the NWS site is a favorite.

  4. Step 4

Weather Underground. Weather Underground gives a seven day and detailed hourly forecast. Jeff Masters Blog which appears on the home page is second to none when there are tropical storms or hurricanes near the United States. A great feature of Weather Underground is, if you have a weather station, you can link with Weather Underground and the data can be viewed by others on the Weather Underground. This is a five star feature. One of the best features on the web is Weather Underground's Trip Planner. Type in you trip destination and the dates of your trip and you have the actual weather data for the last ten years or more. This is five star + all the way.
When you search Weather Underground's home page for a specific location's weather, you also get the weather at local airports, a history and almanac of the days weather plus an area to search for past weather. State extremes, local weather stations, and weather blogs are listed, which makes the WU home page a bit long but packed with very useful information.

  5. Step 5

    Hurricane Information
Stormpulse.com - A site that has a great, A#1 hurricane tracker. You may also search past hurricanes and tropical storms for strength and path. This feature is really cool and recommended.

Crownweather.com - An incredible collection of maps and satellite images.

on 2/16/2009 Weather Underground is my favorite, but I think it is fair to say that reliability of long term weather forecast depends very much on your location. In certain parts of the States weather is generally very stable and changes slowly, so 7 day or longer forecast can give you good idea what to expect, but other parts of US have extremely unstable weather and reliability of just 2-3 day forecasts is very low. Anything longer is really just a lottery.
