Step 1
The first step in achieving your elevator etiquette is to put away the cell phone. Nothing is more irritating than listening to someone talk on their cell phone conversation.
-
Step 2
The second step in achieving your elevator etiquette is to skip the attention seeking behavior. This is not the time to be impressing others of the Ferrari that you purchased or the new Louis Vuitton bag you received from your boyfriend. Stand quietly, as most people are a bit uncomfortable in a crowded elevator.
-
Step 3
The third step in achieving your elevator etiquette is not to talk about your personal issues with others. Not only will you make those uncomfortable, but you won't know who else is listening. You might soon notice that your personal information is no longer so private anymore.
-
Step 4
The fourth step in achieving your elevator etiquette is to not spread your germs to others. If you are ill with coughing and sneezing, do all of us a favor a use the stairs. Imagine how easily germs can be transmitted in an enclosed compartment like the elevator.
-
Step 5
The fifth step in achieving your elevator etiquette is to not eat while you are on board. Wouldn't it be a bit annoying to have someone eating some onion rings and spreading the smell all over?
-
Step 6
Lastly, in order to master your elevator etiquette, do not display any signs of affection. Resist the urge to kiss your partner. Resist that hand trying to grab some goodies.

on 2/3/2009 Interesting side of the ettiquette book but well worth it! People don't realize how loud they are on their cell phones! 5* RCMMD You.

on 2/1/2009 I also hate it when people don't wait for you to exit the elevator before they try to get on. It causes a traffic jam and it's simply just rude!
