Step 1
A national study on the Big Brothers Big Sisters youth organization found that kids matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister:
*Are more confident
*Are more likely to steer clear of drugs and alcohol
*Do better in school
*Get along better with their family and friends
*Feel better about themselves. -
Step 2
Kids could be in need of a mentor for many reasons. Some of the children Big Brother Big Sister has helped are children of incarcerated parents, children of single parent families, and children who have problems in school, whether it be with peers or with schoolwork. There are many reasons why a child might need a mentor and certainly not limited to those I have mentioned, so if you are ready to begin the enrollment process, read more.

Step 3
Point your browser to www.bbbs.org, or you can link directly to this website through the Resources page. I encourage you to browse the site and learn more exciting and rewarding information on the Big Brother Big Sister program. When you are ready to enroll your child, simply enter your zip code anywhere you see "Enroll a Child." You will see the enrollment option in many different areas within the site. This will give you the information on your local Big Brother Big Sister organization.
-
Step 4
Next you will want to enter the personal information pertaining to the child and his/her parent or guardian. Enter that information and a representative from your local Big Brothers Big Sisters agency will contact you to begin the enrollment process.
-
Step 5
That is all there is to it. You are taking a great step towards a brighter future for your child.

on 3/5/2009 It's a good idea and I tried it but it doesn't work for my zip code. It directs me to their main site in Detroit. 5*
