1
Prevent problems with your Bissell Powerforce bagless vacuum by cleaning foam filters every three months and replacing them every one or two years. Replace HEPA filters every six to 12 months.
-
2
Check filters if you have trouble with suction on your Bissell Powerforce. Even if you are not "due" to clean or change your filters, if you have pets in the home or live in an area with lots of sand, it’s possible you need to clean or change your filter more often.

3
Make sure all filters and the bagless container are properly seated. If they are loose or not connected correctly, it may affect the suction. Check the attachment hose. It needs to be secure in holder when you are not using it. This is how a vacuum transports dirt to bagless container.
-
4
Look under the vacuum to ensure nothing is restricting the rotation of the roller brush. String, or even hair, can wrap around the brush. Remove any sting or hair, cutting carefully with scissors if necessary.
-
5
Disconnect the twist-and-snap hose from the vacuum and dislodge and remove any obstruction with an unbent hanger. Check the foot hose at the bottom of the vacuum. Remove the screw holding the hose wand base to the vacuum. Straighten the hose and clean out with the hanger.
