In recent years, Starbucks has become synonymous with Frappucinos, lattes and other pricey treats. The worsening economic crisis is hitting the company hard, and Starbucks is trying to find ways to gain back the customer base it lost in recent months. One way is to offer consumers who hold reloadable $5 gift cards, or those who sign up for the Starbucks rewards program, two hours' worth of free AT&T WiFi a day at Starbucks hotspot-equipped locations.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A $5 gift card or membership in the company's rewards program.
  • A love of coffee
  1. Step 1

Go to the company website (www.starbucks.com).

  2. Step 2

Sign up for the Starbucks Card Rewards. In addition to getting free Wifi, consumers can earn other rewards with their card too, such as refill cups of coffee, a tall beverage of your choice after a whole bean purchase is made, and select syrup and milk choices, like soy, when you purchase a beverage.

  3. Step 3

Register your card. You will be unable to participate in the free WiFi promotion unless the card is officially registered and has been used at least once.

Tips & Warnings
  • You must use the card at least once a month.
  • The two hours must be consecutive.
  • New members also receive a voucher for a free drink.
  • Existing AT&T customers can access WifI at Starbucks without any additional charge or without having to purchase the rewards card.
  • T-Mobile Hotspot customers can also get free Internet access at Starbucks, part of an agreement between AT&T and T-Mobile.
