Things You'll Need:
- Sample of hand writing
- An interest in the hidden messages.
-
Step 1
An organized script shows consistency.
Consistency is measured by comparing similar penstrokes or letterforms to each other. For example compare the lower case e and see if it is formed the same way each time. Some variation is normal, what you are looking for is a complete form change. -
Step 2
An organized script avoids extremes.
Extremes can be seen as either side of center. For example the writing is either so sloppy that you can not read it, or it is a perfect sample of letterform. Extremes in handwriting is a lot like the extremes in everyday life. It identifies the that the person is prone to go overboard with their actions or reactions. -
Step 3
An organized script will show simplicity in form.
Simplicity is the elimination of unnecessary pen strokes or additions to letter forms. For example fancy scrolls, curlicues, extra lead in strokes, extra ending strokes to name a few. The meaning of the script accessories depends on which one they used but the generalized meanings are indecision, pretense, or confusion. -
Step 4
An organized script will show clarity of style.
Script can be seen as a graphic picture of a person's thought process. Clearly formed, clearly legible script shows clarity of thought and a need to be understood. Jerky pen strokes, tangled, or scribbled over writing shows tangled, confused, or erratic thoughts. Missing or improper punctuation, missing t bars, and missing i dots are signs of carelessness and a lack of attention to details.

on 2/10/2009 I hate my writing- I am left handed and it looks jerky but I hope I am not chaotic!

on 2/2/2009 That is very true. There is a part of Graphology that is focused on people with serious illness. It is very interesting, and will try to get to that very soon. Thank you for the comment.

on 1/31/2009 A really interesting subject. I believe you can tell about a person's character from their handwriting ... unless, for ex., they have tendinitis or another chronic hand injury. Like my husband. Very sloppy handwriting, but it's because his hand hurts!
