Things You'll Need:
- Newlyweds
- Home
- Children
- Challenging Times
- Vacations
- Growing Older
-
Step 1
In today's society, it seems easier to separate and divorce rather than working things out and staying in it for the long run. When we are newlyweds, everything is new and exciting in our lives. You have a new love and a new life that is full of hopes and dreams.
-
Step 2
Sometimes when children are added to the equation of a marriage without planning, insecurities and difficult times can begin. The husband must not be left out or left to feel he is less important, but must also be supportive and considerate of the wife's new role as mother.
-
Step 3
When issues of in-securities are allowed to fester and grow, many couples will become angry, hurt, and distant. Communication is crucial during this time. Talking to each other without blame is hard but great accomplishments can result from talking, setting goals and working together as a team.
-
Step 4
One of the great ways to relieve stress in our family was to plan two vacations per year. Remember, I said plan. We would plan one for the family and one for us. We had wonderful and memorable times during both. However, remember to plan, plan, plan. We were not wealthy and we had five children
-
Step 5
So, now in our older years, we have learned to accept and love each other for who we are. Was it easy? No way! Was it worth it? Absolutely.
