Step 1
Open your internet browser, if iGoogle is already your homepage then it will, of course, open to it. See that annoying sidebar? Let's get rid of it!
-
Step 2
Change your homepage to the UK version of iGoogle. In the address bar put this address: http://www.google.co.uk/ig. You should see the new page after you hit enter. But it won't be reset to your homepage until you follow Step 3.
-
Step 3
To make it your homepage:
In Internet Explorer and Firefox, go to the Tools menu and choose Internet Options (in Firefox it's just called Options). At the top of the dialog box that pops up, there is a button that says "Use Current" under Home Page. Just click it and then click OK at the bottom of the box.
In Google Chrome click on the tool icon in the upper right corner and choose Options. In the middle of the dialog box that pops up is the section for Home Page. Click on Open this Page and then paste the address from Step 2 in the space provided. Close the dialog box.

on 11/21/2009 http://www.google.co.uk/ig solution is no longer working. If you use firefox, to remove the sidebar, download igoogle Tab Remover firefox addon:
