How to Dress Boy/Girl Twins
Let's face it. Twin babies in matching outfits are adorable. Even though it's easier to match all girl or all boy twins, boy and girl twins can look just as cute, wearing outfits of the same color or style. Some frown upon dressing twins alike, worried about the children not having their own identity. However with boy and girl twins, you can still differentiate between the two in other ways. Choose what you think is best for your family, but consider easing into individual dressing as the children get older, giving them a sense of individuality. Does this Spark an idea?

Indulge in the classic matching outfits when they are babies. Few parents of multiples can resist showing off their kids in matching outfits. There is little to no harm done by dressing your kids in matching outfits. Besides, with boy and girl twins, the outfits may be similar, but they won't be exactly the same. You can dress your kids in yellow, for instance, but the girl can wear a yellow dress, while the boy can wear a yellow shirt and jeans. Or you can put them in gender neutral outfits such as a plaid jumpers that they both can wear.

Consider similar, non-matching outfits. You can still coordinate your boy and girl twins without matching them completely. For example, you can dress your kids in the same type of outfit but in different colors, or complementary colors. Another idea is dressing your boy twin in jean shorts and the girl in a jean skirt. You can also peruse boutique baby stores for matching twin outfits with cute sayings on them such as "Thing 1" on one onesie, and "Thing 2" on the other, or "Monkey See, Monkey Do" matching outfits.

Encourage individual dressing as they get older. Eventually as your children grow up and start being able to speak for themselves, if you are still putting them in matching outfits, they may tell you they are tired of it. Allow them to embrace their individuality by dressing them in very different outfits. They are not always going to be seen as twins since they are the opposite sex anyway. Cherish the pictures of your children in their matching outfits when they were babies and only indulge on special occasions, and only if they want to.

Tips & Warnings
If you are worried about people not being able to tell your boy and girl apart when they are in matching outfits, put a bow tie or hair band in your daughter's hair.
