How to Use Romantic Italian Phrases
Italian is one of the Romance languages, which technically means descend from Vulgar Latin, the language of ancient Rome, hence the capitalization. But Italian also can be seen as a romance language -- lowercase "r" -- since some of their words and phrases can be particularly useful in wooing.

1
Choose from the Italian phrases below. They are listed in order of less romantic first (friendship) to more playful and then to serious romance. The important thing to remember is to be honest with your feelings when using these romantic Italian phrases. Don't use them simply to impress; your loved one will be touched only if she feels that the words are heartfelt.

2
Write the words on a card, as part of a letter or a small note left on his pillow if you don't feel comfortable saying the words yet. Send flowers and write a romantic Italian phrase on the small card that comes with them. If he doesn't speak Italian, that's OK. He will have fun trying to find out what your cryptic message means. Cook him an Italian meal with Italian wine. You can build a whole evening of romance around this theme.
