Block your own cell phone number

Do you want to block your cell phone number so that others can't see it? Whatever your reason might be, many people wonder if they could actually really block their cell phone number. Read on to know how to block your own cell phone number!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

You have two options if you want to block your cell phone number. First, you can permanently block your phone number, or you can block it on a call by call basis.

  2. Step 2

If you want to block your cell phone number permanently, you must request a "line block" from your cell phone service. Call your customer service and they can easily block your number for you. You can reach customer service simply by dialing 611.

  3. Step 3

If you chose to permanently block your cell phone number but want your number to show up, you can still press *82 before dialing the number you want to call. For example, press *82 (111)-111-1111 and your cell phone number will show up once for that specific call.

  4. Step 4

Next, if you want to just simply block your phone number temporarily on a call by call basis, simply dial *67 along with the number you want to call. This will block your phone number so that others can't see it.

  5. Step 5

Lastly, remember that if you want to test this, simply call your cell phone with your house phone and dial *67 and your cell's number. You will notice that it really is blocked!
