Wine-tasting parties are not just for the rich and famous, you can host one right at home- and it will be a hit! Start a tradition with family and friends by planning a fun wine-tasting party that everyone will enjoy.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose your theme. You can really set the tone of the party theme by incorporating it into the invitations. Go for a Tuscan theme and use vintage-style paper with calligraphy writing; or a French theme with fancy scroll lettering. The possibilities are endless and they don't stop with the invitations- use the same theme in your décor and food choices.

  2. Step 2

Pick your wine. Choose five to six different wines to share with your guests. You can choose one variety such as red wine or Pinot Grigio; or perhaps choose a particular year. Regardless of how you choose the wines you will have at your tasting, variety is key! And remember, there may be others you would like to present, but you can save them for the next party!

  3. Step 3

Cleanse the Palate. Offer a variety of breads and water to cleanse the palate between tasting.

  4. Step 4

Set up the wine on a display table with information cards for your guests to educate themselves on what they taste- they may find one they absolutely love (which will come in handy on birthdays).

  5. Step 5

Along with the bread and water, offer up a variety of cheeses. Cheese is the best companion for wine so offer it up on a beautiful platter. Be sure to include: Gouda, Monterey Jack, Cheddar, etc.

  6. Step 6

Gift bag anyone? Surprise your guests with gift bags containing wineglass rings, wine openers, and an informational booklet on wine and wine tasting. You may also want to throw in a few rich chocolate truffles.

  7. Step 7

Have fun! The key to any party is to have fun. Enjoy music that goes with your theme and engage in conversation and god times.
