Choose Daycare Software

Choosing the daycare software that is just right for your home daycare is a critical element necessary in running a successful home daycare business.
Read on for a review of several daycare software programs that offer free trials to home daycare providers.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • The Internet
  • Google Search Engine
  1. Step 1

Do a search for "daycare software" or "free daycare software" on the internet. I found several software companies that offered free trial versions. None of them are free. Some are very expensive, and some are actually quite affordable.

  2. Step 2

Look through the listings available, and select daycare software programs that offer a free trial. Different software programs have different features, and so you need to try them on for size before you know which program has the features that will suit you best.

  3. Step 3

ProCare Software has several applications, which are all packaged and priced separately. This daycare software appeared to be geared more towards center-based daycares, and perhaps even targeted for providers who owned several daycare sites.

    Payroll 97.50

    General Ledger 197.50
*These aren't all of the applications available, and some applications are piggy-backed, and can't be run without the purchase of other applications.

ChildCare Office Pro cost $298. This Daycare Software features
    Automatic Billing

Tips & Warnings
  • More isn't necessarily better. Many of the more expensive software programs with excessive features are designed to meet the needs of large daycare facilities, and have prices to match.
  • I've worked exclusively with C-K Kids, and found that it met all of my needs perfectly.
  • Information gathered from the website of the daycare software programs listed above, via Google search engine.
