Refilling ink cartridges yourself is a great way to save some money compared to replacing the entire ink cartridge. Refilling a Brother LC-41BK ink cartridge can be a little tricky, but is still fairly easy. Below is a guide to refilling one.

• Brother LC-41BK ink refill kit
• Paper towels
• Rubber gloves

1. Take the empty ink cartridge out and place it on paper towels on a flat surface, like a table.

2. Place the cartridge on its side. Take the thumb drill that came with the refill kit and make a tiny hole about 1/4-inch below the black cap, on the clear part of the plastic side.

3. Take the syringe for black ink that came in the refill kit and fill it with 20 mL of black ink.

4. Carefully place the needle in the hole of the cartridge and inject the ink. Once the ink gets just below the hole, stop.

5. Cut a tiny piece of aluminum tape, which came with the refill kit, and place it over the hole.

6. Put the cartridge back into the printer and run the cleaning cycle.
