How to Refill HP 22 Ink Cartridges

Refilling ink cartridges instead of buying new ones saves money and allows for many more prints out of the same cartridge. Refilling an HP ink cartridge only takes a few minutes, and all you need is a refill kit that is easily available online (see Resources below).

Things You'll Need

• Color refill kit
• Latex gloves

Instructions

1. Put on your latex gloves to protect your hands from the ink, and prepare your area for ink that could spill or drip out; a newspaper, an old rag or a paper towel will work well.

2. Peel the label off the cartridge. You will find the label on top of the cartridge, and it will have 5 holes: the top one closest to the printer head is magenta, the one under that on the left is yellow, next to it on the right is cyan.

3. Fill a syringe that came with your inkjet refill kit with the appropriate ink, insert it into the sponge and fill the cartridge slowly until you see ink surface.

4. Repeat the steps for the appropriate color, making sure to rinse out the syringe in between each color.

5. Put the label back on the cartridge. If it doesn't stick, it will still print without it as well.
