1
Plan the party to start a couple of hours after you have the house to yourself. Also make sure you have a way to contact all of the guests quickly if the party start time needs to change. Act casual before the party. Do whatever it is you normally do.
-
2
Ask party guests to carpool, walk or park on a different street than yours. Too many cars in front of a house is a sure sign that some type of gathering is going on. Make sure the guests that do drive park only in legal parking spots. No guest should block the driveways of any nearby businesses or neighbors.

Keep the music low enough so that it cannot be heard outside. The one party event that is most likely to draw the attention of neighbors--and eventually the police--is noise. Set up music player stations or different movies in a a couple of rooms to keep the volume on the main stereo low. Removing or disconnecting any large speakers before the party can also ensure that guests won't blast the music and draw attention to the party.
-
4
Minimize the number of rooms guests are allowed to use during the party. Keep doors closed or put signs on them. Have a couple of guests who are your close friends help you monitor room use. The fewer rooms that are used, the easier it will be to clean up after they have left.
-
5
Keep ample toilet paper, paper towels and air freshener in the bathroom. Also have a plunger available. During a party, the bathroom will get a lot of use. It could get messy. Make it easier for guests to clean up after themselves. Do a periodic check of the bathroom to make sure everything is still working.
-
6
Clean all rooms, especially the bathroom and common living areas after the guests have gone. One party giveaway will be the trash and bottle recycling that will accumulate after the party. Take out all the trash and return all bottles after the party. You could also ask a friend to take any returnable bottles. Vacuum rugs and do any dishes. Do not go overboard, or the house may look too clean. This also may cause suspicion.
