How to Troubleshoot Hewlett Packard Deskjet 932C
When you've got that important term paper due or a spreadsheet that needs to be printed, the last thing you want to deal with is a printer that isn't working properly. If your HP Deskjet printer is stuck a non-printing mode, put on your thinking cap and get ready to solve the mystery of the HP Deskjet printer.

Push open the top gray lid of the printer and do a quick visual check to see if any paper is jammed inside the print spool. Pull out any pages that may have become stuck inside.

Close the lid and then check to make sure that the USB cable is connected from the printer to the computer and that the power cable is hooked into an electrical outlet. Turn your computer completely off and then turn it back on and try to print any file to see if the problem has been solved.

Remove the HP printer software that you installed when you first setup the printer and then re-install it. Go to the HP website and access the support area. Enter in the model number "Deskjet 932C" into the text field and hit "search." Click on the link to get drivers for the printer and then download the most up to date driver.

Run the software program that you re-installed and click on the link to print off an alignment test page. Wait for the page to print and then check to see if it matches the image on the screen. Follow the on-screen instructions if the image did not print properly for re-aligning the print heads.

Close the HP printer software and then click on the "Start" button at the bottom left side of your desktop. Choose the option to open the "Control Panel" and then click on "Printers." Look for the HP Deskjet printer and click on "Add a New Printer" if your computer hasn't found it yet.

Tips & Warnings
You may also want to try using a different USB cable or plugging the power chord into a different wall outlet in case the cord or outlet are not working.
If you are using Windows XP and have not downloaded the "Service Pack 2" update your printer may stop working when your computer goes into hibernation mode. You can fix the problem by going into the "Device Manager" list from the "Properties" menu and then checking the box next to your USB port that says "Turn Off This Device To Save Power."
