Three Ways to Access the Hardware Diagnostic Tool

Click on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop. Follow the path "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\PC Help & Tools\Hardware Diagnostic Tools." This is the link to the tool.

Follow the path "C:\Program Files\PC-Doctor 5 for Windows\pcdr5cuiw32.exe." This is where the link in Step 1 actually leads to.

Click the "Start" menu and go into "Help and Support." Type "memory" in the search window. Choose the "What type of memory (RAM) does my computer have?" option. Click on the "Click to open System Information and view your Memory information" option.

Click "OK" to the window that tells you to close all applications and save your information. For finding what kind of memory you have you do not have to close applications. The Hardware Diagnostics Tool window is displayed.

Click the "Find" drop down menu.

Select "Memory."

Click the "Find" button.

Choose the "Device Information" option. This will give you all the information you need about your memory modules.
