Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the Bunn coffee maker, open the top and remove the sprayhead, which is the part with the holes that allows the water to drip into the brew basket. The sprayhead comes away from the lid of the unit by just turning it and pulling gently. Clean any debris that is stuck to the holes in the sprayhead with a toothpick and rinse the sprayhead.

    • 2

Snake the deliming tool provided with the Bunn coffee maker into the opening of the tube that becomes visible once the sprayhead is removed. Continue to push the deliming tool into the tubing until only 2 inches of the tool remain outside the tube.

    • 3

Pull the tool out of the tube, twisting the tool around as you pull. The Bunn website recommends reinserting the tool into the tubing and pulling it back out at least five times.

    • 4

Fill the coffee pot with clean water, fill the reservoir with the water, close the lid and place the pot in its position on the brewer plate. Plug the Bunn coffee maker back in and turn it on to allow the water to run through tubing. Run 2 cycles of fresh, clean water before brewing coffee in the Bunn coffee maker.

    • 5

Give the Bunn coffee maker a more thorough cleaning every three months. To clean the Bunn coffee maker fully, according to the Bunn website, fill the water reservoir with 1 qt. of white vinegar, place the coffee pot in place and turn the coffee maker on to run the vinegar through the machine.

    • 6

Dump the vinegar out of the coffee pot, fill the pot with water and fill the reservoir. Run eight to 10 cycles of water through the Bunn coffee maker before using the maker to brew coffee.
