How to Make Dry Shampoo at Home
Don't have time to wash your hair? Try dry shampoo. Dry shampoo is a powder that absorbs the excess oil from your hair, leaving it refreshed and manageable. It's not just handy for when you're in a hurry, but also good for those who have trouble shampooing their hair, such as the elderly. Things You'll Need
- Cornstarch
- Corn meal
- Salt
- Ground oatmeal
- Baking soda
- Dried herbs
- Jar (for storage)

Choose your base. Cornstarch is the best choice, as it's healthier for your body than talcum powder---and your hair won't smell like a baby's bottom.

Mix in a coarser powder. This isn't necessary, but some people find that combining another powder with the cornstarch increases the oil-absorbing power of their dry shampoo. Bigger grain products, like ground oatmeal and corn meal, are good choices, as are salt and baking soda.

Add dried herbs. These will add a pleasant scent to your dry shampoo over time.

Stir the ingredients together and pour it into your jar. Your dry shampoo is now ready to use.

Tips & Warnings
Don't use essential oils to add fragrance to your dry shampoo---the cornstarch will absorb the oil and won't work when you use it on your hair.
