The most overlooked part of your shower is the shower floor. Soap scum, hair, and mold can build up. Cleaning the walls of a shower is a task we remember to do, but making sure the floor is clean is often forgotten. Cleaning your shower floor is a task that will only take a few minutes and ensure that your bathroom sparkles.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Screwdriver
  • Abrasive scrub
  • Warm water
  • Toothbrush
  • Scouring brush
  • Towel
  1. Step 1

    Remove the drain from your shower floor. Clear the drain of any hair or debris. Insert your toothbrush into the drain use it to remove loose hair that is stuck in the drain pipe.

  2. Step 2

    Clean the drain cover with a toothbrush and scouring scrub. Rinse, towel off, and set aside.

  3. Step 3

    Run your shower to moisten the showers floor. Sprinkle the floor with scouring powder. Take your scouring brush and work in a circular motion to remove the soap scum and dirt from the floor. Rinse thoroughly.

  4. Step 4

    Sprinkle scouring powder in the corners of your shower floor. Use your toothbrush in a back and forth motion to clean the corners. Work the scouring powder into the grout with your toothbrush. Rinse.

  5. Step 5

    Towel off the shower floor. Screw the drain cover back into the drain.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use drain cleaner to maintain clear drain pipes. Clean the shower floor every time you clean your shower. Inspect the grout around the shower floor. Plan on touching it up if need be.
