Cork flooring is among the sturdiest and easiest type of flooring to maintain. Here's a few ways to keep your cork flooring looking as though you just had it installed. With a little light maintenance, your cork flooring will last for years.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Swiffer dust mop
  • Felt pads
  1. Step 1

Use a light dust mop on your floors, such as a Swiffer. It is important to clean your floors with a dry mop or cloth. A damp mop will work occasionally if properly wrung out. Too much water can seep into your floor and damage it.

  2. Step 2

Use caution when moving furniture. Remember to lift the furniture and not drag it.

  3. Step 3

Use pads under the legs of furniture so as to prevent scuffs.

  4. Step 4

Place mats at the entrances of your home. Dirt can be damaging to cork floors.

  5. Step 5

Use curtains or blinds to keep direct sunlight off cork flooring to prevent fading.

  6. Step 6

Clean up spills immediately. Cork is porous and will absorb any fluids.
