Prevage MD is an anti-aging treatment designed to combat lines, wrinkles and uneven skin tone. It contains Idebenone, a powerful antioxidant that has been shown in user surveys to improve skin texture and firmness. Prevage MD is only available from a doctor, although you can purchase Prevage 0.5 percent at department stores and beauty retailers. Prevage 0.5 percent contains less Idebenone than Prevage MD. Instructions

    • 1

Conduct a patch test. Prevage MD may cause a skin reaction in some users, so apply a small drop behind your ear or on the inside of your wrist once each day for 3 days. If your skin shows no irritation after 3 days, proceed to step 2. If your skin appears to be irritated, return the product to your doctor and discuss an alternative treatment plan.

    • 2

Cleanse your face and neck with warm water and a gentle face wash. Pat dry with a hand towel.

    • 3

Squeeze a pea-sized amount of Prevage MD onto your fingers and massage it gently into your face and neck until it is absorbed. A little goes a long way, so do not apply more than a thin layer.

    • 4

Avoid using other anti-aging products--especially those containing retinol or alpha-hydroxy acids--at the same time you use Prevage MD. Using these products together may increase your risk for skin irritation.

    • 5

The next morning, cleanse and dry your face normally and apply a moisturizer with sunscreen. Sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 15 will help prevent sun damage to your skin and will help maintain the anti-aging benefits of Prevage MD.

    • 6

Wait 1 day. For the first week, only apply Prevage MD every other day. After the first week, you can start applying Prevage MD every evening.

Tips & Warnings

  • You should begin to see a noticeable improvement in your skin within 4 weeks.

  • Do not use Prevage MD within 1 week of having a chemical peel, microdermabrasion or laser treatment. Using Prevage MD too soon after having one of these procedures can lead to adverse reactions, including stinging, redness and swelling. If you develop any skin irritation while using Prevage MD, wash off the product and talk to your doctor. Your doctor may be able to recommend other anti-aging products available for your sensitive skin.
