If you would like to celebrate a special friend or loved one without actually being in the same room with her, one way to do it is by sending balloons through the United States Postal Service (USPS). Sending the balloons through the USPS is not difficult. You just need to follow a few steps to ensure the balloon package is pleasing to the eyes of the recipient.
Step 1
Fill your balloons with helium right before you are ready to mail them, as opposed to filling the balloons days before they are ready to be mailed. This is because over time the helium will seep through the skin of the balloons. As the seepage occurs, the balloons will gradually deflate.

Step 2
Tie the "neck" of your balloons really tight to prevent the helium from leaking out.
Step 3
Tie long ribbons to the neck of all of the balloons.
Step 4
Place some type of weight at the ends of the ribbons to hold the balloons down. If you like, you can tie the ends of the ribbons around a basket, small mug or stuffed animal.
Step 5
Visit your local post office to mail the balloons. Ask the post office representative for a box big enough to hold your balloons.
Step 6
Place the balloons inside of the box so that the weight is at the bottom of the box. Seal the box with postal tape.
Step 7
Pay the appropriate fees to have your balloons "express mailed." This will ensure that your balloons arrive in the shortest amount of time to prevent the helium from leaking out before the recipient receives the balloons.
