Send someone festive birthday balloons at work, school or their favorite hangout. They will be thrilled that you remembered their birthday and sent them this playful gift. The inflated objects may also be used as a party decoration. Send them to a child's birthday party or to an art-work party for adults. There are many different ways to arrange for the balloons to be sent, and you can use the most convenient one.

From Quick Guide: Birthdays 101
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Birthday person's work or home address
  • Debit card or credit card
  1. Step 1

Verify the person's birthday. It would be embarrassing for you to send the balloons on the wrong day. Discreetly discuss birth dates with the person. Or ask their friends when their birthday is if you are not certain.

  2. Step 2

Set your budget for the balloons. Include in your balloon budget the price of the delivery and any tax, in addition to the balloons themselves. Consider other expenses that you may have for the birthday celebration, including the price of a gift, cake, venue, party food and party favors.

  3. Step 3

Browse the selections available at local party shops that deliver, as well as local florists who also deliver balloons. Ordering may be done at a local shop in person or on the phone. They may also be ordered online at the websites Balloongram and FTD (see Resources below).

  4. Step 4

Pick the birthday recipient's favorite color or a color that matches his birth stone when you pick out the balloons. Choose balloons with numbers or sayings on them for milestone birthdays including 16, 21, 30, 40 or 50. Make a selection that includes characters that kids like when sending balloons for a kids party. Add flowers or chocolate to the order. Request a small "Happy Birthday" card to accompany the delivery. Include a personalized birthday message.

  5. Step 5

Choose a delivery date, time and location. Give your credit card or debit card number over the phone when ordering, or type it into the website's order form. Expect to receive a call after the balloons have been delivered.

Tips & Warnings
  • Send the birthday balloons as a surprise.
  • Stick within your budget if you also plan on buying other birthday gifts or throwing a birthday party. Do not guess the person's birth date; make sure you know it before committing to a delivery date. Do not send balloons for children under three, as popped balloon pieces can pose a choking hazard.
