Step 1
Make a list of all of the freelance writing sites that you currently write for. You want to focus on the sites that let you publish the content that you want rather then give you a set list of articles to choose from. Some of the writing web sites that you will probably list will include Associated Content, Ehow, and Bukisa. Once you have the list of sites that you write for, you can figure out how to better focus your writing on each site. If you do not have many sites that allow you to submit your own topics, check out the freelance writing sites that are listed here to get started.

Step 2
Pick two or three topics that you normally write a lot of your articles about and assign them to each freelance writing web site. For example if you write about parenting a lot, you may want to focus all of your parenting articles on Associated Content. This will make your article list on each site more specific to the person that is reading your article their. If they found a parenting article on a freelance writing site through a search engine, they will be more likely to click on more articles by you on the same topic.

Step 3
Stick to the assigned topics for each freelance writing site for at least three months. You will only submit articles on the assigned topic to that particular site. At the end of the three months, you can get an idea of whether that topic works for the freelance writing site that you chose for it. You may need to adjust which site that you write on what topic for to maximize your earning potential. Once you find the right combination, you will begin to see a greater increase in income from your freelance writing with only the sites that you have already been using.
