Step 1
Slow down. There is nothing else that uses more gas than speeding and accelerating quickly. Use long on ramps to your advantage and gain speed efficiently no need to floor it. Keep it under 80 and you can increase your gas mileage a few miles as well.
-
Step 2
Tire pressure. Keep your tires at the recommended level and you can increase your gas mileage even more.
-
Step 3
Keep it running. A car that is well-maintained and well taken care of will almost always get better mpg, change your oil, spark plugs, and filters regularly.
-
Step 4
Fuel additives, not crack for your car but something that uses the benefits of 100% petroleum technology. A few products out their actually can help your mpg as well as your engine life by keeping your engine clean and lubed.
-
Step 5
Plan your trip. Don't go back and forth, really think about what you need when you leave your house, by starting your vehicle less and driving less you can save a lot of money.
