This article is about traveling in NJ or NY without car using mass / public transit.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First of all, open maps.google.com or yahoo mapquest, enter the destination address. Enlarge the image and check out for any train or bus symbol. Click on that train symbol and you would come to know, which different transits are available at that station.

  2. Step 2

By checking out both these information, even if your destination address is not close to any mass transit stops, it can drop you nearby and from there you can get a cab. This will definitely reduce your cost of travel

  3. Step 3

Other way is through www.njtransit.com, itinerary section.
This also can help you out for bus and train information. Make sure you have change of dollar, when you travel in NJ transit bus, as bus driver do not have any change. Dont forget to check for the travel deals on the website.

  4. Step 4

For traveling in NY, get useful information from www.mta.info. Check out for the deals. For subways, you can also get helpful hints and direction from Subway reception (Not sure what they call, but there is always a man/woman sitting in a close cabin, inside subway station to help you out)
