This article will tell you Step-by-Step how to create your own music CD through the Apple iTunes program. You will be able to choose any songs you like and burn them onto a cd.

Things You'll Need:

  • Apple iTunes program
  • Songs from iTunes

  1. Step 1

    Step 1-(How to burn a blank CD using Apple iTunes)-

    First, in order to download songs you will need to get the iTunes program. The download is free and available at: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ Click on the link and select your version of windows, either xp, vista or 64. Enter your email address in the box and and click download.

    Next, install the Apple iTunes program on to your computer. You do not need an iPod to use this program. Under the Store Tab of the iTunes, you can choose Create Account. Do this so you will be able to purchase songs directly from iTunes. Each song will cost $1.

    Make sure you are logged into iTunes so you can purchase songs. Click on the Store section on the top, and then click on where it says sign in. Enter your email address and password and you will be logged in.

    Now that you are logged in you can purchase songs. On the left side you click on where it says iTunes Store. This will bring you to the iTunes Store. On the top right there is a magnifying glass and you type in the white box the artist or song you are looking for. Repeat this process until you have all of the songs you want.

    Now that you have songs you can create a playlist. On the bottom left, there is a plus sign. If you click this a new playlist will be created. Title your playlist whatever you like. For example Rock Songs if you want a CD with all Rock music.

    Next, on the left side of the iTunes application, under where it says Library, click on Music. This will display all of your current songs that you own. If you want a song on your CD, right click it and go to Add to playlist, and choose what playlist to put it in.

    Repeat the previous step until you have about 10-15 songs in a Playlist that you would like to burn on a CD.

    On the left hand side, under Playlists, click on the one you want to burn to a CD. It will display all of the songs that will go on the CD. Now open your CD-RW drive, on your computer. It should be the top Cd drive on your computer. Press the button and the Cd drive should open.

    Go to Target or Walmart and buy a pack of blank CD-R disks.You can burn music onto these blank CDs. Once you have the disks, open the CD-RW drive in the computer and insert one blank disk.

    Now you are ready for the final step. On the bottom right of iTunes it says Burn Disc. Click this button and your CD will begin to burn. In a matter of minutes all of the songs on your playlist will be on your very own CD. You will be notified when the CD is finished burning. Open the CD-RW drive, take the CD out, and you will now be able to listen to your CD anywhere: the car, your computer, a CD player.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure to create playlists before burning your CD, so that you can have the songs you want on your cd. Label your CD after so you know which each track is.
  • When you burn your songs make sure you do NOT open your CD drive until your computer says the CD is done burning. If you do, you will mess up the CD.
