Giving groomsmen gifts is a tradition that has been going on for ages. It is supposed to show that the groom appreciates and takes care of his groomsmen, and that he respects their choice to skip a day of watching football and be there for him on the biggest day of his life. The wedding couldn't have been on a Wednesday, when no sports are on, and that's why groomsmen gifts are important. If you didn't give them, you couldn't be sure these guys would even show up. So, here's how to give the best groomsmen gifts and make it count.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Decide on a great groomsmen gift you can buy in bulk and get a discount on for everyone. This groomsmen gift should be something all your groomsmen like and can use, like a poker chip set, or power valet station. If a few of your groomsmen don't gamble or groom themselves, you'll have to think of something else.

  2. Step 2

Heed tradition. The flask and cuff links are highly traditional groomsmen gifts. No one knows why, maybe it is because groomsmen are typically unmarried and spend their time breaking off their shirt sleeve buttons and drinking in public. I don't know, but these groomsmen gifts are can't miss ideas. So when in Rome... just get a flask or set of cuff links.

  3. Step 3

Outdo everyone. You might as well outdo everyone other guy who has ever gotten married before in everything at your wedding, including your groomsmen gifts. If you get a flask, or a set of cuff links, make sure they are better than every other set of flasks or cuff links ever bought. You can find leather flasks, stainless steel flask and other unique flasks in various shapes, humorous or serious, depending on your style. Cuff links also come in Gold plated and Rhodium plated varieties.

  4. Step 4

Engrave everything. Engraving is the art of grinding one's name into something very hard, like metal or steel, and for some reason it is a tradition. So, grind all of your groomsmen names on each one of those groomsmen gifts (don't do it yourself, it's offered at most groomsmen gift stores). It makes a groomsmen feel special, as if no one else in the world could own that flask now. Plus, engraving will probably be free.
