How to Make a Fruit of the Spirit Activity
This edible activity will be very fun for the children while simple enough to conduct. It will emphasize the different fruits of the Spirit in a tangible way and serve as a snack also to save you time.

- Plastic bowls (one for each child)
- Bananas cut up into slices
- Grapes
- Apples cut up into bite size pieces
- Peaches cut up into bite size pieces
- Raisins

Instructions
-
-
1
Give each child a bowl and plastic spoon.
-
2
Hold up each type of fruit one at a time and talk about one of the fruits of the Spirit. Say: "One of the fruits of the Spirit is love. We are going to put some pieces of banana into our bowls so we will have love."
-
-
3
Carry a bowl of banana slices to each child and let them spoon a few pieces into their bowl. Repeat steps two and three for each of the fruits of the Spirit.
-
4
When you have all nine fruits in the children's bowls, say: "Now we have all nine fruits of the Spirit in our bowls: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. So let's eat our fruit and talk about how we can show these fruits of the Spirit to our friends and family this week."
-
5
Give the children ideas of how they can show the fruits of the Spirit to others and let them share any ideas they have.
