Punch tools and punchies

Paper punched flowers are beautiful embellishments for your bridal and wedding stationery. You can decorate invitations, announcements, thank you cards and wedding programs with clusters of card stock flowers. These can be punched in quantities while you enjoy a television show or listen to music. Invite a crafting friend to join you for an afternoon or evening of flower assembly. Large flowers can be made to decorate tables and items at the reception site.

      punched cardstock

Punch card stock with floral shaped paper punch tools. These shapes are called "punchies." Store in plastic sandwich bag or sectioned container. Punch out leaf shapes to go with the flowers.

    • 2
      glue punchies

Place 2 to 3 punchies one on top of the other. Put glue on center of one and then top with the next flower punchie. The petals can be lifted up and bent to make the piece look like a multi-petal flower. Snowflake punchies make good flowers too.

    • 3

Use circle punch tool to punch a tiny hole in the center of 2 or 3 flower punchies. A needle can be used to punch tiny holes. Push a miniature brad through the holes. Glue leaves to the underside of the flower.

    • 4

Punch out or stencil larger 3- to 4-inch flower shapes on card stock. Cut out stenciled shapes if you are using them.

    • 5

Take a ruler and bend petals up against the edge to give dimension to some of the large flower shapes. Glue to a flat flower shape. Glue a small flower to the center. These can be used for decoration or for containers for candied almonds or kisses on reception tables.
